Machamp 8/102 Pokemon Trading Card Game Base Set, First Edition, Sealed, Mint
Machamp 8/102 Pokemon Trading Card Game Base Set, First Edition, Sealed, Mint, slightly uncentered
There are no flaws to point out on this Machamp except that it looks to be off center right to left on both the the front side and back side to the naked eye. Front side the right border is thinner, back side the left border is thinner. Top and bottom borders look even on both sides. I do not see any flaws on the back edges, no white.
This was a 1st edition card that you automatically received when you purchased a regular base starter deck, so I know it is a relatively easy card to come by as far as the base set goes. I kept it sealed and in a case since the deck was purchased back in 1999. I know it could be a 9/10 for PSA purposes due to the slight off-centering.
Please look at the pictures and ask questions if you have them.
I took these pictures on an iPhone X. I tried to show each corner in the best detail I could, and I tried to make sure light reflections did not obscure anything. The pictures are meant to show the edges and corners to show if there is any white, which I’d consider the main factor affecting the value. The background is a red file folder, which makes any white stand out on the blue. None of my listed cards show any arguable flaws on the front sides or yellow border. I will point out all flaws I see including centering. The lighting brings out all flaws on the back side and I think it makes flaws look worse than they actually are. The visible bow is due to the cards being in these individual cases for so long, the cards are not warped. I have no desire to rip anyone off with a poor description or unclear pictures. I looked into PSA grading but it’s costly and takes several months. I realize my prices may be high without the fancy PSA grading but it is what it is, if they sell they sell, I have diamond hands. Feel free to ask me any questions!
I am a lawyer in St. Louis, not a professional eBay seller. I was born in 1988 and used to watch Pokemon in the van on the way to elementary school each morning. I started collecting Pokemon cards when they first came out. I purchased pretty much all my cards in booster packs, 2-3 per week using my allowance, at the Walgreens on the corner of Brentwood Blvd and Litzinger Road in Brentwood, Missouri. I never played some of the rare holos unless I had duplicates, and I kept the rare holos in cases not books. I gave away most of my old cards to my Nephew a couple years ago but I kept some of the unplayed holos cards, which I am now hoping to sell to help save up a down payment for a new house, or to strengthen my position in Gamestop. I will have more cards up for sale soon from the first three sets and some promos and randoms.
