This poster includes a replica of Andreas Gursky’s work Bahrain I (2005) displayed within the MOMA Museum’s retrospective of this latest German artist, whose work is featured within the Museum’s collection. It is a LARGE 32 x 28″ gorgeous poster, released by MOMA in a limited edition a few years ago and long since sold out, in new condition.

 In his resplendent large-scale pictures, Andreas Gursky captures the brand new world, and its landscapes, folks, architecture, and industries, in seductive detail. Shot from an elevated point of view and produced on an epic scale, Gursky’s pictures show the person or granular—supermarket merchandise, soccer players, windows on a building, or islands within the sea—subsumed by the hundreds or the surroundings. Drawing influence from his schooling underneath Bernd and Hilla Becher, Gursky rigorously composes his expansive views to envelop viewers with dizzying scale, detail, and color—effects he ceaselessly heightens thru digital manipulation. “Finally I determined to digitalize the photographs and leave out elements that bothered me,” he said of his “Rhine” pictures (1999), certainly one of which set the record in overdue 2011 for the easiest value ever paid for a photograph at auction. Gursky bears an in depth comparison to other members of the Dusseldorf Faculty, specifically Thomas Struth, Axel Hütte, and Candida Höfer.
